clarification of " Lever to the Left"Archived Message

Please help me understand what is needed, if anything, if the opening lever is far to the left. Since the L.C. Smith is advertised as "the gun that never shoots loose" what parts are needed to replace or adjust to get the lever back to the right. Obviously there is wear if the lever is to the left, but is that a problem? Thanks for your help. David R
