Ed, I've always heard that old damascus/twist barrels were always unsafe because of the possibility of hidden rust and/or weakened spots due to dents which might separate the twisted iron and steel. Is this still true? The barrels seem to be thick and solid and the interiors are not pitted at all. The gun is on-face and locks up tight, with no rattles or play when it is opened. The top lever is still right of center. What do you think? Are there brands of shotgun shells made for damascus guns? Thanks!
