Four years in the making, 121,500 words and 500+ pictures (200 in color), the manuscript of my fourth book about old-time double shotguns is at the publisher, Collector Books of Paducha KY, and scheduled for release next summer. PARKER GUNS: SHOOTING FLYING And The AMERICAN EXPERIENCE goes beyond what has been written in the "Who-What-When-Where" gun books by answering the questions "WHY?" and "HOW?"

While the "Old Reliable" Parker is what I know best, many collectors of the other fine guns (especially L.C.Smiths) have commented that much of my writing applies to all guns without regard to the maker's name. This is even more true with my current work, which includes chapters and verse on N.R.Davis, Ethan Allen, Wesson, Roper, Whitney, Boyd & Tyler, Maynard, Lefever, Remington-Whitmore, Baker/L.C.Smith/Ithaca, George H. Fox, Ansley H. Fox, Colt, and, of course, Parker in its various reincarnations.

Collector Books will be selling a Trade Edition in big box and Internet stores and through the usual gunbook dealers. I have reserved the entire Special 500 Limited Signed First Edition and offer copies by advance subscription @ $99.95 plus $7.50 ($107.45) to Old Reliable Publishing Box 4 Davis IL 61019 Any questions, or for a flyer 815-248-2459 or
