If you use No. 4 or 5 shot and limit the distance to 30 yards, any 1 1/8 oz. load will kill a turkey every time if you don't miss the head and neck! I do recommend using a gun with a full choke, if available. Be sure to pattern on paper prior to the hunt. You might be surprised just how tight some of these old guns pattern.
