VERY interesting. Noah sent an excellent pic and indeed the serial number is 33161; an 1891 date of manufacture, but the receiver is stamped 00. 00 guns were not introduced until 1898. Is it reasonable to assume that the receiver, for some reason, was finished in 91' but not fitted with Armor steel barrels and stamped 00 until 98'? Has anyone seen a gun with 7 yrs separating the receiver and the finished gun?
