While scanning L.C. Smith magazine ads (we will soon have a page with about 100 ads up and running on this site), I came across several from the period of June 1944 to March 1945 advertising a new rust proofing process. The ads read, in part:
"Amazing new process perfectly rust-proofs guns. Get the benefits of the Hunterizing process! It perfectly rust-proofs all metal parts of any make gun, rifle or shotgun (except barrels of double-barreled guns) without altering dimensions. Hunterizing gives 100% protection. Minimizes oiling. Reasonable cost . . . quick service. Recommended by the makers of L.C. Smith, Hunter, and Fulton Shotguns. Send us your gun now."
Does anyone know about this process? Was it a parkerizing process? Does anyone have a "Hunterized" gun?
