Jay, both methods work well. I personally like the small hole drilled in the web of the stock. Using a screwdriver with a V notch is alright, just have to be careful not to slip and dig into the metal or wood. This method was used by Hunter employees and like any thing else, do it long enough and you get proficient at it.
