I was doing the tourist thing here in Seattle yesterday, when the tour guide got my complete attention by starting to talk about what used to be the tallest building in the city. Completed in 1914 (he never got to see the finished product, Lyman C. expired in 1910)it's still a prominent feature in the skyline. The tour guide went on to mention that he was made rich and famous by the Smith-Corona typewriter and even Smith & Wesson pistols. As we were docking, I explained to the (politically correct?)young man that LC Smith might be remembered for some other products as well.
