    hairline crack repair Archived Message

I have a L.C. Smith 20 ga field grade I purchased two years ago, lengthened the chambers, but have yet to fire it. There is a hairline crack at the center back of the right lock plate. What can I do to seal/reinforce the front of the crack so it won't get worse with shooting? I believe I read something on this site a year ago about a type of epoxy/repair that was very watery that could be brushed into the head of the crack that would help to seal and bond the wood.

    Thanks.
