    Thank you for the reply. On the end of the gun box under the heading "Type" FW is printed and SP is written in india ink following FW. The receiver has Fw before the s/n, no S. I will post some pictures next week after my son returns from his trip (he has the digital camera).
    While I have the original box the gun came in, the gun is not new out of the box. I know it was used for hunting before I got it almost 20 years ago, and I have occasionally hunted with it or shot clay birds, but not for a number of years now. Although this greatly devalues the gun for resale, this gun has provided me with some hunting memories that will never fade; including my first turkey, a few rare grouse and many woodcock. Right now I am struggling to decide if I will really use it again, if it is still OK to shoot. I understand there is a system for rating gun condition. Can this be done via pictures?
