quite some time ago, a friend was going through some 'hard times'. I lent him some money, and he insisted that I take some guns as collateral. I understand he is not with us anymore, so I took a closer look at what he left me. Long story short; 12 ga. Smith serial no. 336**. The barrels (marked "London Steel") however, have a serial no. of 353415, which is the same as that on the forearm. The question is-is this normal to have separate serial numbers? This is a field grade gun; extractors, double triggers, no engraving. The stock has been butchered, and my thought is to have it restocked. Any thoughts on this? Jim Kelly
