New Inheritance - Need Help Archived Message

Hello All Fellow LC Smith Enthusiasts,
I just came into posession of a 10 guage SxS Trap Gun that is in desparate need of some restoration work. The stock at one point was broke in half and the remedy at the time was to inlay two butterfly shaped pieces of metal on each side of the break. I can make a new stock now problem but the trigger guard was broke and it appears to have been brazed. Also, the forearm is missing and the metal piece that is attached on the underneath side of the barrel that the forearm clips into is also missing. Are there sources out there to find these parts? Also, metal is in desparate need of restoration, all tarnished and mild surface rust - how does one go about restoring this? By looking at the chart on found on this web site and comparing the serial number to it I believe this gun was manufactured in 1890. Thanks in advance for any responses
