I have discussed the matter with Frank Finch and offered to take Russ Ruppel's place ( Syracuse hammer & hammerless guns) along side Daryl Hallquist who was concentrating on the Syracuse Baker hammer guns ( 3-barrel and 2-barrel). We have Russ' original data as of Sept. 2005, and are endeavoring to have his sons check his computer files to see if any additional information is available. I have discussed with Jim Stubbendieck the possibility of setting up a committee to evaluate the guns and possible offer a Letter of Authenticity from the Collectors Association on a reproduction of a L.C.Smith Syracuse Letterhead.
