    Randy, I had a Long Range gun a while back (traded it off, rats!) and I measured the bores and chokes with a longer barrel gauge. The chokes were longer than the typical 4" - 4.5" Fox tapered chokes but I don't recall how much longer. I do recall thinking about the special choke boring that was in the L. C. Smith Long Range advertising, and thinking, this must be what they meant. However, as you noted, the bottom line is how tightly the gun patterns. My gun patterned about 80% with either barrel using 1-1/8 ounce of 2's that I use for fox and coyote hunting. That was for a composite of 3 shots each. Silvers
