I recently purchased my first L.C Smith, a 1914 vintage field grade 16 gauge with 30" barrels in the same un-molested condition as your example and it has been a joy to own and study. it handles beautifully and is a constant reminder to me of the craftsmanship of my grandfather's generation. Today $1200 can buy you a decent dinner party or a heirloom shotgun that will be a source of joy and wonder for generations.
