Boyle's law states that if volume increases, then pressure decreases. There will be slightly lower pressure using 2 1/2" shells in 2 3/4" chambers (which also occurs with lengthening forcing cones) but NO change in recoil. Pressure of course propels the ejecta and generates fps, but it is not part of the recoil equation.
