Re: Herters 16 Gauge Shells
Max,there are many of us that load the Herters 16ga shells. The big question is which ones? The purple shells that were sold by Herters were 2.750" long a few years back. The new ones, now made by Winchester are 2.650" long. There is a big difference in the two types and how you go about loading them.Bear in mind that both types take an oversized primer.Feel free to give me a call.PS--If you have any of the older Herters purple factory shells,I would not shoot them in a L.C.Smith gun.I have had them pressure tested after I saw a Smith gun blow apart. These shells are way over American Specs.Good luck: Charlie 410-756-2095
