I have a Pigeon gun 38930 which doesn't have the inlay either. It was finished Jan. 1895. I thought this gun was without it because it's unremarkable in its finish. It has nothing that would lead one to think it is a Pigeon gun except for the "P" stamp on the receiver and barrel.It does not even have "L C Smith" on the lock plates.Just another neat thing in the world of "Elsie".
