The buttplates shown used on Hunter Arms guns started at Syracuse L.C. Smiths. The second one with the setter with his foot on a rock was used on Syracuse hammer guns and did carry over to the early Hunter Arms hammer guns. The bottom buttplate was used on early Fulton boxlocks.
