Re: Goodies for the Southern
For whatever this is worth, and besides Dick and I pulling each other's chains; what I've attempted to do here is make those labels affixed to our 2918 "vintage" shell boxes look "vintage" (as in OLD timey!). I'm not an artist, so when I'm working on graphics design ideas I'm forced to search the web for period ads, then save those images I think would be appropriate. After collecting those images I work with a vendor, who is a graphics person; then we mix, match, modify, color, and change up those images until I believe I've achieved my goal. At that point the proposed image is submitted to the BOD for final approval and or modification. I personally liked the idea of the old timey spelling used for the word choice ("choise"), which spelling was found on one of the images I'd saved; so when no one on the Board objected, that spelling was retained for the label. Rest assured I always work on these box labels as a fun project; so hopefully no one has determined that I'm an idiot because they're convinced I've misspelled the word "choise" (as opposed to choice). The spelling "choise" was purposely used solely to give the finished piece an added touch of "old timey". And as to what has stimulated this, and previous similar posts; Brother Dick and I are just two old-timers who enjoy "picking" at each other, and our banter merely represented attempts at humor. Best Tom
