1906 hammer gun parts finishes
Posted by Jt murphy on January 15, 2018, 12:18 pm
I have an old lc hammer gun that was my great great grandfathers. The serial number is 1486xx which indicates it was made in 1906 or 1936 but since they quit making hammer guns in 34 I am assuming itís a 1906 gun, is that a valid assumption? I am trying to determine how the hammers, bottom metal, etc were finished I know receiver and side plates were color case hardened were the hammers , top lever and bottom plate as well? Or were they rust blues like barrel? Or mitre blues like screws? Also am looking for the screws that hold the hammers on if anyone knows where I can get some Numrichs lists them but out of stock.
Thanks in advance
