Behold, the Word made flesh
Alive yet fragile in the crèche.
Not a worldly potentate
With diadem upon noble pate;
No outward display of might and power
Yes, a poor girl’s Infant laid in the bower;
A Conception so fundamental and profound
The fulfillment of the law with doctrine sound.
No grandiose formulation difficult to be understood
Just love, compassion, sister- and brotherhood.
The meek and humble take courage for His sake
Secretly, the arrogant and overbearing tremble and quake.
It’s a new game now and we would certainly be remiss
If we did not celebrate the New Covenant with a Merry Christmas.
