My son has the habbit of bringing home project shotguns, he just cant pass a gun store without stopping in. Today he brought home a #3 10 gauge smith serial # 19933 in need of some repairs
on closer inspection the barrels and forend are are not the same number or grade as the rest of the gun. they are # 19938 and a #4 grade.
since the numbers are only 5 guns apart I was thinking the original owner must have ordered 2 guns at the same time and at some point swaped the barrels. I was just wondering what others thought it just seems odd that the numbers are so close together.
