there must have been a dirt dauber nest in there...my dad blew up his then new stevens double in 1947 ive still got the old barrels..they look about like yours my dads gun was ripped apart because of a wadding..he was shooting blanks and had a round that did not go off to good..he did not look down the barrel put in another shell and well you see your barrels that was a mistake my father made he has not forgotten in all those long years ago...heh how about sleving your barrel the side thats blown to a deer calibre 44 mag or 30-30 a full lenth sleve could be put in and your barrels could be straightened and repaired around the new sleve or should i call it a insert...theres several places out there that sell inserts in differant shotgun an d several lenths you would need a full lenth to fix your gun...just a idea i thought you mite like you may not like the idea but heh.... charlie
