Cliff, your hammer gun was made in 1898. It is a 6 pin 2 screw bar action lock (mainspring is before action), with the Type II hammers (intermediate, also with the first style joint check/ejector system.
This style with the 6 pin 2 screw lock was only made from sometime in 1896 starting at serial number 55,000 and ending sometime in 1899 at serial number 73,000.
Also in 1899 there was a big change in the design of the hammer guns, they now went to a 3 pin 1 screw back action lock, Type III hammers ("C" style) and the joint check was eliminated.
