Tom whether that is his synoposis or yours I can't agree with that. There are other factors that lead up to the black/white finish than just immersing in boiling water. The barrels must be free of any oils, that includes fingerprints. If not done correctly, you will get a blotched finish.
Also as Tom Archer said, he saw a Grade 0 that was in mint condition and that the barrels were a "beautiful black/white finish".
Let the Parker guys think what they want.
