Welcome Bryn: 1901 should be correct.
Please check the 'FAQ' section on the Home Page regarding parts and a replacement buttplate.
I would suggest getting the gun to one of these gentleman for an opinion as to whether it would be safe to shoot and what refurbishing the gun would cost:
