Shock and awe at the Legendary Carr Collection displayed today at the Cazadores de Codorniz Classic in Tucson
Including the last A2 (and this is all you get until the article appears
)
BUT THIS IS REALLY INTERESTING, and Bro. Phil may need to correct me on some details. It's a F grade hammer gun with 10 and 12g barrels. The receiver is stamped 'F' but the 10g barrels are stamped 'H'
The serial number makes it either 1901 or 1926. Houchins states that damascus barrels could be special ordered after 1919 when only Royal steel barrels were offered.
Travis Sims did his usual great job refinishing the barrels WHICH DON'T MATCH AND WHICH ARE BOTH 4 IRON "VERY FINE" DAMASCUS found on Quality A and B hammerguns. Unfortunately, the pics don't quite show the difference in the contrast and although both barrels are "Oxford", the scrolls don't quite match.
So why would high grade, non-matching barrels be found on a F grade hammergun??
Was Hunter Arms using up the last of the damascus tubes and threw in the high grade stuff?
