One of my childhood dreams is coming true. This December I am getting to hunt pheasant in the Texas panhandle. I want to use my grandfathers L. C. Smith 20 gauge Field Grade. I haven't had the gun very long and I have never been pheasant hunting before. Does anyone have any advice? What is the best shot to use for pheasant? Can I use Hi-brass loads in a gun that was made in 1921? I have heard that one barrel is a full choke and the other is a modified. Is that true and which is which? Is a 20 gauge big enough?
Thanks for any help. I am hoping to have a productive trip.
