i lke no 6 s i use them for head shots but i have kept the range to about 45 steps or closer i have always liked the bigger shot size though.i will load some no 6s up and let yall know how they turn out. destrey there is plenty of pentration with the large shot at 100 yards will do a test for you and let you know. you ask about that 40 inch gun. ive about decided it needs a new home ive never been so displeased with a gun in all my life.ive shot ever size shot that i have and it dont like any of the shells ive fed it.i dont have any kind of instruments to measure the bore with but a dime will only go 10 inches into the barrel from the breach end.ive never seen another gun that a dime would stop that close to that end.most guns a dime will stop at about the last two inches of the barrel if its a full choke gun. i think the old gun needs cones lengthened out what do yall think charlie
