It could possibly be a few things. One the connecting bolt going from lock plate to lockplate is not tight and is causing the sear for the left barrel to barely touch the trigger plate causing the recoil to possibly jar it. Or the sear could be worn. I doubt this second one.
Take off the right lockplate, use the long connecting bolt from the left side and thread it into the right lock plate and gently pull it off. (if a Featherweight, take out the small screw on the right plate also.)
Look very closely through the hole where the sear goes through the wood and makes contact with the trigger plate, and see how much of the sear is resting on the trigger plate.
Having the side plate connecting screw not tight enough will cause the sear to not rest far enough on the trigger plate.
The triggers are independent of each other and pulling one farther back should not matter. It should only go so far in it's housing.
