Welcome James and what a neat legacy. Your grandfather's No. 00 grade was made in 1899. The 'C' is for Crucible Steel and the 5 8 is the pre-fit & finish barrel weight, suggesting the gun is a 10 gauge. Please check the 'Shotguns', 'FAQ', and 'Photo Trail' on the Home Page for lots more infro.
