The barrels have already been blued and the receiver has been hardened. when I originally brought it to this smith, I got his name from this forum, so I can only hope at this point that it has been done properly. The value of the gun is immaterial to me as I view it as priceless and will never sell it. It will be hard to decide which of my boys to hand it down to.
The smith in question has been unable to find a stock for it, so I will need some help in finding someone that can do this for me. I will get the gun back this Friday and pay the smith for what has been done. Any contact information you guys can give on a reputable stock maker for the gun is appreciated.
By the way, the gun was originally purchased by my great-grandfather. Based on the serial number, I believe it was built in 1913.
