I appreciate your point of view. I plan to post photos of my 40s .410 Specialty when I return from my trip. I think that although minimum workmanship standards may have been relaxed after 1913, that didn't prevent more experienced and dedicated workers from producing many exquisite shotguns. This is the reason I enjoy examining every Smith I can get my hands on.
