I am trying to determine exactly how many L.C. Smith shotguns were marked Long Range and how many were marked Wild Fowl. I don't know if Wild Fowl shotguns replaced Long Range guns, or if production of the two designations overlapped.
Serial number 191104 is the first to appear in the records with the "W.F." designation. I wonder if any shotguns were marked Wild Fowl with lower serial numbers and not recorded as such in the books.
Do any of you have a Wild Fowl with a lower serial number? Or, do any of you have Long Range shotguns with serial numbers above 191104?
If there is no overlap, I can determine how many of each were made. If there is an overlap, we will never know those numbers.
