Nickle Silver 10 Ga.

I was in a small gun shop last week and noticed a L.C. Smith 10 ga shotgun from what the tag described as a late 1800's model. It had exposed hammers, but the entire gun re: receivers & barrels were what appeared to be polished nickle silver... was there ever such a gun made like this from the factory?
