I never met John, but we talked by phone several times. My sense of him was the same as that of the leadership and members of the LCSCA; being caretakers of these great guns does not make us special, the guns are what are special. And our joy is in sharing these treasures (and the knowledge we've accumulated) with others.
Unexpected and untimely passings force us to evaluate ourselves; where we've been (and did it mean anything), lives touched, relationships forged (and broken but not too late to be mended), and most importantly, where we're headed (in this life and the next) and why.
