Not all Elsies had blued forend irons. From my limited experience...I have heard and seen that extractor guns have blued forend irons. Ejector guns have case colored forend irons. This proves to be true in my collection of guns as well as the others I have been blessed to view and photograph.
Here is my 16g Specialty, which has Ejectors...
