Thanks again for your responses. Sorry about the delay in posting pics, was out of town, but here are three. The first shows the two screws that I previously mentioned, and the screw that replaces the roller on the forend. The second shows the closest I can get to removing the barrels - this is as far as I can open the breech, the barrels won't pull off from this position. The third shows the receiving holes on the forend for the two screws shown in pic 1, and the barrels which were badly pitted and apparently sanded and re-blued. Also notice how the rib on the barrel underside has become separated from the barrels.
I'm getting the feeling that this gun has been re-done just for looks and is no longer operable. I wouldn't shoot it anyway because I don't trust the barrel thickness after all that pitting, but I'd kind of like to know what I've got here.
