Bryan: Horace Smith may have been distant kin to L.C. Smith, but Smith & Wesson has no relationship to Hunter Arms Co. From the Blue Book of Gun Values, the 3000 was imported from Howa Machinery, Ltd. (Japan) in the 1980s and later produced by Mossberg.
