On May 24, 2008 while the GPC-Canadian Nationals was being held Bruce Greig was involved in a fatal car accident. As one of the founding fathers of Canadian Powerlifting he will be remembered on Nov.8,2008. A memorial powerlifting meet will be held re-uniting lifters from across Canada and the USA that were influenced by Bruce's love for our sport.Entry forms can be found at www.independentpowerlifting.com

I wish you luck with the meet and encourage all lifters to lay aside federation matters and honor Bruce Greig. I remember the WPC Worlds in 1999 in Calgary as one of the most attended and best ran in WPC history. Bruce and Wendy did a great job and spared no expenses to promote a great contest.
