The travel fund was established to help provide travel money for lifters traveling to the World Championships. Now the APC is supporting two World organizations, one equipped and one Raw and they are both in the US. In my opinion it is not fair to provide travel money within the US. For instance from Bogart, my home, to the meet site in Atlanta is about 60 miles. Other people will travel further and will spend more. I think the spirit of the rule when it was established was to help with foriegn travel, which will be expensive for every one.
In 2012 The GPA Raw Worlds is firmly committed for Argentina and the WUAP Worlds is some where in Germany. I will propose that each lifter who wins his class, raw or equipped, at the APC nationals in 2012 be provided his/her share of travel money by the procedure we have used in the past. The only difference is that the lifter will have a choice as to whether he wants to go raw or equipped, to Germany or Argentina.
As for 2011, I think we should save our money for 2012 when it will be much more expensive to travel.
