Posted by L B Baker There has been a lot of discussion on some of the forums about rules in the APC. The annual AGM will be Friday night at the meet hotel. Every APC member is invited to attend and will be given an opportunity to speak. Now is the time to show up and speak where it counts, and cast your vote. I want to say thank you to all the lifters, judges, workers, sponsors, and uncountable people who have worked hard to make this contest possible and wish every one good luck and a fun filled injury free week end.

The fith annual APC National Championships will happen this week end in Marietta, Georgia. Marietta was also the site of the first APC Nationals one exit down on I-75. The first AGM was held in 2004 at the APC Nationals in Athens, Georgia. There were 3 people in attendance. We have more people running for elective office this year than we had at the entire meeting in 2004. The APC/GPC has had phenominal growth since 2003 due largely to the fact that the APC/GPC is truly a federation for the lifters. The APC is an open book. All the income and expenditures are accounted for on the web site. Every person who buys a membership card and every sanction fee paid by a promoter is listed. Each year the funds are divided up among the winners of the Nationals who are traveling to the World Championships. Each name and the amount of money is listed on the web site. No officials or committee members receive a salary or fee for their work, it is all pro bono, for the good of the federation.
