Too many lifters are making to big adeal about this rule/clarification change whatever. This last weekend we had a very successfull Central California Open & Novice Meet here in Fresno where I explained at the rules briefing about this. From what I have seen only a very few lifters would or could be affected by this because of actually raising the abdomen/stomach to meet the bar literally and then it becomes obvious. Add the other variable to the mix is thelifters overall anatomy and the eyes of the referees and its going to look very different through different eyes, most lifters put the bar somewhere in between. Those then that probably should think about chaging their style of benching would be those who actually aim the bar to meet the stomach.
