Hi Rocky, you have some good points and I hope you will be at the AGM this year to have your say. However, you have a good idea about discussing it before the meeting. The procedure we use now was voted on at the AGM in 2005 and reaffirmed at the AGM in 2006. At the AGM in Gent the GPC body voted to not allow a lifter to enter 2 categories, master-open. They were using the IPF mentality of less lifting categories the less medals they have to buy. Hopefully it will be overturned before the worlds in Canada. I don't think a master lifter should be penalized if he is strong enough to win the open also. But I agree with you about the division of the travel money. I think some restrictions are in order to prevent a lifter from losing travel money because another lifter can win 2 categories. I'm sure we would like to hear from other concerned lifters.
