Posted by chuck sparnecht What I haven't been able to find are the pictures of the Baccari #1 on Pop's Photos Site that you mentioned. Can you give me some hint about how to get to them? By the way my '34 Plymouth Coupe arrived in the mail today, and I begin building the chassis and slant-6 engine tonight! (all in 1/24th scale of course) Chuck --Previous Message--

George,
I have actually seen those pictures of your Brackey sedan and T.Q. I remember them quite well. Of course there was a rivalry between the Brackey's and the Brunnhoelzl's back then, so Bruno was never my favorite. But boy, he knew his way around the race track and could build cars that handled amazingly well. He used to have some kind of wires and blocks running along the frame rails of his #71 sedan and us kids used to come up with all kinds of theories about what they did or were for. We never did figure it out!
: Yes, Freeport was a real mecca of
: stock car racing in those days. So
: many sharp cars were built for
: there. I have Bruno's 71 sedan and
: his TQ midget. If you go to
: 3widespicturevault.com and click on
: my banner (LeBlanc Trains &
: Hobby Center) you can see a picture
: of the cars on display at my place.
: I have four old stock cars total.I
: wrote an article about Bruno on that
: site also under the title "Last
: Sedan Still Standing" .Check
: out the Super models section also.
: I've never seen any pictures of the
: F-85 on the net as the Ace of Spades
: or the #1. I remember the night that
: they ran it at Freeport during
: intermission to hype up the Trenton
: Race. Thanks, George.
