Veteran NASCAR Modified driver John Blewett III was killed Thursday night, August 16, 2007 in a Whelen Modified Tour race at Thompson International Speedway, CT. John came from a family of race drivers; he was the son of racer John Blewett Jr. and brother of Jimmy Blewett, who was competing in the same race against his older brother. Being a race driver was all John ever wanted to be, and he died doing what he loved. More details can be found at the following site: Speed51.com. My condolences go out to the Blewett family.
