Posted by G I attended the first race of the winged #711 at CMS in 1957. My Dad had watched the car while under construction an took me that first Friday night to watch. It ran a stock 270 HP 57 Corvette engine w 2/4 carbs. They ran the same setup whether on 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 mile, paved, oil or dirt. Low budget! At time trials that first evening, my Dad told me that he brought be to see something "special". He wouldn't tell what it was. When Cushman pulled on the track for the time trial, I immediately said to myself, "why didn't someone think of this before?" 711 was third in the feature the first night. Second night 711 was second. Third night 711 won and never looked back again. We went all over Ohio that summer watching Cushman race. The car was sponsored by Goodale Auto Parts (Transmission Co.) Car Number was 711 which was the address of the parts company, 711 Goodale Ave. G I would think the Knuckles family at CMS would have photos of 711. --Previous Message--

If you get a photo of the Goodale Auto Parts # 711, with Jim Cushman, I would love a copy.
