"I came to win and I showed that I was a real warrior," said Lacy, who has now won his third bout in a row after losing to Joe Calzaghe two years ago. "I came back pretty strong. He hit me with everything he had. I have been off for seven months and it took me a year to recover from my shoulder injury. I just keep getting better and better."
In a message to critics, Lacy stated, "If they say that I am finished, then tell them to watch this bout."
