Hi I am not a doctor, just a person that has waited six years to get a transplant. The first thing I have to say is that most transplant hospitals and teams are not up on the cutting edge. First of all the better instutions would not transplant until they were sure that you did not have any infections Period. Also they would want at least 2-3antigen match. Next they would want your gallblader removed, and a clean bill of health on your teeth. From what I have been able to find out in a transplant the better instutions would use compath prior and post transplant, plus doing the same with thymoglobulin. You might contact Doctor Nina Rubin and her husband, at Massachuettes General Hospital in Boston. They work with Harvard Medical school and the hospital, currently they are researching Chimerism, which I wanted to do But was rejected due to by pass surgery. My next choice was Pittsburgh Medical in Pittsburgh. They do Induction tolerance. My next choice would be Wisconsin Medical at University of Wisconsin Madison, Doctor Kenectle has been using Compath, which allows the patient to come off rejection drugs in six mths to a year. These people are on the cutting edge and can be very helpful. Also I would be dammed pushy with the doctors and dsemand answers. I believe that they know that they messed up and are trying to get past you. They know that you have good grounds for a Law suit. You could contact Dr. Dedrich and Dr, Chmoko at KU medical Center, they are very good in the transplants. Matter of fact Dr. Dedrich is head of Kidney Pancreas transplants. Hope I have helped. George
